Oatmeal

Oatmeal is the best breakfast you can feed your body. After a long night of fasting replenishing your body with a complex carbohydrate is the best thing you can do for your body. Oatmeal is a breakfast superfood. Oatmeal is delicious and sticks with you for a long period of time. Top it off with a protein shake and you are good to go. Soup

My kids finally love taco soup. I have been making taco soup for about 5 years. It has taken that long for ALL 5 to like it. Even after owning Taco Del Mar Carter still turned his nose up at the sight of beans. For the past 3 months I will not cook more than one dinner and I guess after going to bed hungry one, two many times he has decided that he likes beans and that they are not so bad after all. I love cooking a meal knowing that all 5 kids will be happy and everyone will leave the table full. I guess every mother wants that. Happy Clean Eating!!!

P90X

Power 90 X. The best set of training vidoes I have ever purchased. Cardio, Yoga, Legs, Arms, Kick boxing, and assortment of different videos that get your heart pumping and your muscles super sore. A good sore, that makes you comes back for more. Power 90 X is great for people that are already inshape looking to create a more cut and toned body. I run between 8 1/2 to 12 1/2 miles a day and the cardio in this set still kicks my tushy. I just really love this program and think the world should know how wonderful POWER 90 X is for your body. Workout

The Clean Eat Diet Workout book by Tosca Reno is a book I recently purchased and have been reading. I enjoy reading anything I think might inspire me or give me some tips about health. This book is great for all people beginning, intermediate, and advanced training. I have been inspired to try some new things and I feel extra motivated to work my body to a new level of fitness. I always find it interesting that 80% is food, 10% training, 10% genes. Hopefully we all have the good kind !!! I give this book a thumbs up, it's a great read for all. Happy Exercising!!

Protein

Okay I have found the BEST protein powder in the entire world....MUSCLE MILK!!! We, Alex and I, just LOVE the way it tastes and seriously feels like you are drinking a real milk shake. The calorie content and fat content is a little bit more than what we usually drink but of course the fat is the good kind and as far as the calories go I feel like I can go longer between meals. Loving that. I hate to be hungry. We just really recommend with super yum yum yummy drink to all that drink protein drinks. If you don't you should start because MUSCLE MILK is seriously the best and everyone will love their milk shakes!!! Happy Clean Eating!!!

Brownie

Okay today is my free day and boy oh boy did I have an amazing brownie today. Let me tell you all about it....Okay super gooey and super tasty. I put peanut butter on top of it because I am loving peanut butter a lot lately especially since we switched to the all natural. Okay so I put peanut butter on top with a scoop of chocolate ice cream, whipping cream, and purple sprinkles. The sprinkles are the most important part. There needs to be a little crunch in the brownie treaty treat treat. So that is it, just writing about my Brownie is making my mouth water. Today was a great day love love love Sunday treaty treat treat. Now I am ready for the new week ahead. I am ready to be clean again and I am excited to run in the morning. What would I do without running?? Happy Clean Eating!!!

Journal

Today has been a great clean eat day. We have had oatmeal, protein shakes, fish, rice and beans. I am feeling so good about myself and very well fed today. On top of it all I had a really great workout. I took my pace a little bit slower today just for variety and logged a few extra minutes to make up for it. I also did Pilates Advanced Body Slimming with Arms, love that one, makes me really happy about my world. Ryan wanted to do Power90X tonight but I just needed her to go to bed. So we will have to do that on Monday. We have been having the kids workout in the evenings so they sleep better and it seems to be working. They are falling asleep a lot faster then usual. That makes the mom happy, happy, happy because then I am not yelling at them to go to sleep. The kids like a happy mom!!! I am looking forward to tomorrow...Our favorite time of the week, BROWNIE SUNDAY. Who doesn't love a treaty treat treat!!! Happy Clean Eating!!!

Peanut butter. That says it in one word. The worlds best food or shall I say treat. I absolutely love peanut butter. Peanut Butter makes my heart happy and my body happy. This last month we have decided to start buying the good peanut butter, the stuff that has the hydrogenated oil. SO in this journey the kids were pretty good about the whole switch except those that don't like jelly. The peanut butter just doesn't take that great with just bread. Carter really had an issue with this. So with his bagging and pleading I finally bought the jif dirty peanut butter again. But I still am buying the clean stuff too. The younger kids don't seem to mind it at all. Alex and I really like it a lot. Alex actually likes to put it in his chocolate protein shake. I just feel like I am eating a treat when I have it. I sort of feel guilty when I eat the organic peanut butter because well it tastes so yum yum yummy. In fact tonight I just really needed a treaty treat treat so I had 2 pieces of peanut butter bread with a teaspoon of jelly, it tasted amazing. So I guess at this moment I am kind of feeling guilty. Well tomorrow is a new day. Happy clean eating!!

Fat

Did you know??? There is no such thing as "fat burning Food" All foods contain calories, we just need to choose the right ones and burning off the extra calories you consume to lose fat. Exercise is the best way to burn the fat and the unwanted pounds. So now it is time to hop on board and follow an exercise program along with clean eating and watch those unwanted pounds just melt away. Happy exercising

Nike

Nike shox are the best running shoe for me at this moment. I would like to try the ipod nike running gadget, that would be great fun for me. This shoe really supports my high arch. I really appreciate that when I am running a long run because without the right shoe my feet feel really sore. I also love nike dri fit clothes. They really do a great job controlling the sweat. Nike is just great all around, they make a great product to get the job done. Happy exercising!!

So I have stumbled upon a new great magazine, FitnessRX. Such a great find. THe magazine reminds me a lot of Oxygen. Great health information, great article, just a wealth of knowledge for me. I am really excited. I enjoy reading new things about eating, exercise, health, and realating to fitness. It just makes me want to go run, run, run. I know I am kind of crazy but I really enjoy this stuff it makes me a happier person inside. I feel like I am doing something for me. Instead of being the Mom that I am 24/7. Happy exercising.

Fact

Ignoring your body's hunger pangs after your workout helps you get lean? WRONG. If you don't eat after exercise your body tries to find whatever fuel it can to repair the muscle. Failing to recover properly can also result in a higher fat mass, as lean muscle tissue will weaken without fuel.

Run

Wow, I had a really hard run today. I have a varicose vain in one of my legs, it is giving me so much trouble lately. My leg aches and hurts. So annoying. I feel like it is holding me back. Especially today I just could not get below a 7 minute mile, I tried hard but it was just not going to happen today. So I logged a few extra miles to make myself feel better. Then I did some Pilates thinking that I would stretch out better that way and stretch longer obviously. That actually seemed to help a bit. Maybe I will try to do some yoga tonight to get some more stretching in. Clean eats all day, I am doing really well this week I am feeling so clean!! I have been trying to get in more water too, about 8L a day. I feel like it cleans my body out. Water is so yummy. I love how it tastes right after a hard run. I think we will have chicken salads tonight for meal 3, dinner, that sounds good. Happy clean eating.

I love food. I love eating food that is good for my body. I love knowing that the food I put into my body is giving me what I need to have the energy to be a mother, a wife, a cook, a house cleaner, an exercise enthusiast. I had a really great day today. No cheats. I feel like I have accomplished so much when I have made it through a day clean. My attitude is better and I like myself more. It empowers me to do good and to stay on tract. With the holidays behind us I have a new found energy for clean eats and really want to put good things into my body. I love chocolate protein shakes with ice and a banana on the side. Oh, my this is a treat to me. That shake is what I need sometimes to cure the craving for the sugar I love so much but does nothing for my body when I eat dirty. I am ready to start tomorrow. I have already planned my menu and cannot wait to start the new day. I am excited for my run and maybe I will fit some yoga into the day too. Hope you have a great day too. I have started using Bee Pollen. Bee Pollen is known for its high rutin levels. Recipe

Here is an easy receipe for when we are on the go but I need some food fast.

1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup yogurt(any flavor)
1 scoop flax meal
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 blueberries
1 scoop protien powder (optional)

Mix ingredients together and eat. Super tasty and great for you. We love this fast easy clean eat.

Recipe

One of our favorite receipes I never have to fight with anyone to eat. That means a lot when you are feeding 5 kids and a husband. Protein pancakes

1/2 oatmeal
2 scoops protien powder
1/4 cup flax seed meal
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 eggs whites


Mix dry ingredients together
Mix wet ingredients together
Blend all ingredients together

Pour into 4in panckes on skillet and cook.

Yum Yum. We absolutely love these pancakes at house and I hope your family will too.

Running

I love to run. I love that it is my time to think about me, my family, my goals, the future, whatever I choose. I love the way it makes my body feel to push harder or to go longer. I enjoy pilates, yoga and weight training. When I switch up my workouts I really can see the changes in my body and the power I feel from becoming stronger. Clean eating has given me a new energy for life. Having 5 kids I need to have the energy to keep up with them and all the things life brings our way. I definately look forward to my weekly brownie treaty treat on sundays with my sister but I don't feel deprived as I eat the clean food in our fridge and pantry. I love to run and I love to eat clean. They go together well.
