Clean Eating Diet

THe reason I started to clean eat is because I was looking for a way to eat and be healthy, I stumbled upon the Oxygen Magazine and found the Clean Eating Diet in there. I have been following the clean eating way ever since. I didn't really have a lot of weight to loose but I wanted a healthy way to live. I had been doing the diet for about 2 weeks and my sister came over while I was working out she could not belive how different I looked. I had all the sudden become more trim and you could really see my abs. Even my legs looked different. SO I went and bought every book I could on Clean Eating. Tosca Reno has written 3 books that are all fabulous. I Love to Clean Eat. My entire family is clean eating and it is a lifestyle. We couldn't be happier. Although the kids do love to go to Mimi's house and eat all her dirty food that does make them happy!!! Happy Clean Eating!!!

Exercise

To succeed at your fitness goals you must schedule your workout sessions just like you would any other appointment. Write it down on your calendar, don't move it for anyhting else. Keep it scheduled so you are consistant with your routine. If you do miss a day reschedule for the next day and try hard to keep your exercise a priority. Happy Exercising!!!

Succeed

We all want to be successful at the things we set out to do. Exercise and eating right are 2 things we all want to succeed at. If you were training for the Olympics you probably would not be eating a ton of junk food or eating out at gut rock fast food all the time. You would be taking extra great care of your body, giving your body the best clean foods and vitamin supplements you could. We all should take the best care of our bodies even if we are not training for anything specific. Be successful, set realistic goals for yourself, and have fun with your exercise routine. Smaller

In a world where we are all facing monster sized food choices, go for the smaller verses the larger. Decide to eat smaller protions ahead of time. Stop eating 2-3 meals a day. Start eating 5-6 meals a day. You will soon realize how much better you feel when you are not stuffing yourself soooo full. If you are worried that you are going to be hungry again soon by not eating your monster sized meal good news, guess what, you get to eat again in about 3 hours. So try eating smaller, more frequent meals and see how you feel. Happy Clean Eating!!!

The Firm

This week I have been doing Firm videos. Oh, WOW!!! I am a sore lady. My arms are so sore. I have done a ton of push ups today. So the firm is great. I am loving the tone I have today it makes me really happy. I like to see muscles. Exercise is the best it makes you feel so great. Everyone should give it a try. Happy Exercising!!!

Snack

I am loving craisins lately, so I needed to find a protein to go with them that tasted yummy. I found 2, almonds or string cheese. String cheese is my favorite. Oh, my it is really yummy together although all 3 are really tasty together too. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Veggies

Craving veggies but don't have time to cook in the oven or steam over the stove?? Pop the veggies into a zip lock steaming back for a minute or two and poof you have beautifully steamed veggies. Put a sprnkle of sea salt on them and yum, yum, yummy!! Great snack. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Calories

Cutting calories doesn't mean cutting flavor. And some foods have nearly miraculous properties that help you stay slim and trim. Like cinnamon....according to the USDA, it can lower blood pressure which in turn can curb your appetite. Sprinkle some on your oatmeal, in your smoothie, or in some yogurt. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Sleep

Getting proper rest is so important. Your body and muscles need time for rest and recovery. Your body needs atleast 7-8 hours of sleep a night. You'd be better off sleeping through your workout every other day than stumbling through a sunrise exercise class. Be smart exercise is important but sleep is just as important. Happy Exercising!!!

Mixing

Mix up your exercises to keep the body adapting. You must keep your body guessing. Never do the same routine two days in a row. Continually mix it up, you will see results faster and you will continue to see your body changing if you have a new program daily. Happy Exercising!!!

Clean

You cannot achieve lasting weightloss with exercise alone. You must have a clean eating diet in order to see lasting results and a positive self image. Having a lean toned body is all about what you put into your mouth. Eating every 3-4 hours is the only way to maintain a hot body!!! Remember 80% is what you put into your mouth, 10% exercise, 10% good genes. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Tushy

You know when someone has a tight tush and tones legs, she didn't get there watching T.V. or sitting here typing on the computer. She got that tush moving literally to get it toned and tight. So the next time you see someone with a tight tush and toned legs give her some credit for what she goes through everyday staying in shape so give her credit were credit is due. Happy Exercising!!!

Pilates

Windsor Pilates is a great way to build lean muscle. Lean muscle helps our bodies metabolism. We all want an effecient metabolism that burns what we are bring into our bodies. `Pilates also lengthens and leans your body out. I feel taller when I do pilates every week. I love how pilates stretches my muscles and the way I feel when I am finished. Give it a try. Happy Exercising!!!

Roasted

Roasted Asparagus
1 1/2 lbs asparagus
3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
Sea salt and black pepper to taste

Preheat oven 425 toss asapargus in extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season lightly with sea salt and pepper. Lay a single layer in baking dish with cooking spray. Bake for 7-10 minutes.

We made these tonight and ate them up. They were yum yum yummy. Alex really likes them a lot. We made quite a few and they are completely gone. Great recipe.

Sanity

I love to run. Runnung is my sanity. Without running I would be INSANE. I love my kids a lot but I need some me time and this is my me time, my sanity. Today I ran my little heart out. I just couldn't stop today. Maybe because yesterday was my day off, I needed my natural high for a little longer today. The kids were so good today too. No one bugged me at all I was so happy with them for letting me run for as long as I needed today. I also did a P90X today because I needed to strech my muscles. I love running. Happy Exercising!!!

Kids

Having 5 kids is no small task. I have gained and lost a lot of weight over the years. With each baby I gained about 30lbs. SO I have had to get that weight off every time, which I did proudly. But I never ate clean. I think a pregnancy would be much easier eating clean. I don't think I would worry about gaining weight or getting if off because with clean eating the weight just comes of naturally without starving which is the best part of all. Think

Think before you eat. If you think before you put that chocolate or cupcake into your mouth. Do you really want that sweet?? Or could you live without it?? Take 5 minutes and come back to see if you really need that treaty treat treat and if you do by all means eat away. But you may feel differently if you walk away and come back to your temptation. Exercise

You must enjoy your workouts or you are not going to be looking forward to exercising. Try new things, cardio, weights, dvd's, go to the gym, go outside for a run, find a freind to inspire you, until you have found what works for you. If you get bored easily switch up your exercise routine so you do not become bored.

Clean Eating involves making lifestyle changes.

Shake

The Ultimate Protein Shake

1 cup nonfat keifer
1 scoop protein powder
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 small banana
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 mint leaves
1 teaspoon ground flaxseed

Blend all ingredients and yum, yum, yummy!!!

Have this for breakfast or after a workout

chocolate

So I was eating so great today. I was so clean all day, then I just fell prey to chocolate. I could not help myself. I did indulge...WOW that chocolate was soooo good I couldn't stop. I finally had to tell Alex to take it away. Maybe I am lacking in some zinc or some other vitamin because I am craving chocolate, I can't stop thinking about that chocoalte. I don't want to crave junk, I want to crave clean food. Tomorrow is a new day. Happy Clean Eating!!!!

Cranberries

Dried cranberries are my favorite treat at the moment. Cranberries are delicious in everything, Yogurt, Salads, oatmeal, a handful all by themselves. Cranberries are sweet like a treat and add so much flavor to food. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Clean eating = staying lean. Eating foods that are at their most natural state is the best way to feed your body. You might think that sounds boring but if you expand your mind a bit and try some new spices and some new foods, you will soon realize that eating clean is the only way to eat. Eating clean and healthy also helps you to shed body fat. Your body fat % will decrease due to this lifestyle. Who doesn't want that. That makes everyone happy right? Happy Clean Eating!!!

Buddy

Being healthy and creating a healthy lifestyle takes work, a lot of work. Having someone to talk to about your lifestyle along with the goals you are currently working on helps to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Just like having a workout buddy you need to have a buddy you can talk to about different recipes that work for your family, differnet snacks, vitamins or supplements that are being taken and you find effective. I enjoy talking to people about clean eating and the tricks that work for my family. Sometimes though I do get off track and it's nice to have someone to talk to about the clean eating lifestyle to help me become motivated to stay on track and remember how great this lifestyle is and how happy I am when I am eating clean for me and for my family. FAT

If you want to loose weight EAT. Yes that is right EAT. You must eat to keep your metabolism humming. If you eat every 3-4 hours your metabolism will be on fire. When you don't eat your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to every last morsel. We do not want that. Eat the right foods, low calorie, high density foods that fill you up. Foods that give you the energy you need to get through your day. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Exercise

I enjoy exercise. I love the way I feel after a hard run or a really great P90X DVD. I love sweat to be dripping off my body when I finish up my workout because then I know I have done something good for my body and for my stress level. I am a better mom when I workout, a better wife when I workout, and have that so desired ME time. I need ME time. So exercise is the time I choose to get my Me time in. I had an awesome run today, I really kicked my tushy hard. I felt so invigorated after finishing. As I was cooling down I felt great, I was feeling like I could conquer anything. Love that feeling of empowerment. So go have a great run, a great yoga class, or great P90X. Push yourself to the next level. Take it up a notch day by day. Happy Exercising!!!!

Diet

When trying to find the right "Lifestyle" for me and also for my family I did a lot of research on the computer, magazines, different books, ect... Then I stumbled upon Clean Eating. My whole life has changed. The Clean Eating Lifestlye works for us. I am so happy when I am eating clean and putting healthy delicious foods into my body. As I was reading about this lifestyle I didn't know how I was going to eat as much as I was supposed too. But adapting to this change has been so great because I LOVE to eat. I find pure enjoyment putting food into my mouth. Not just any food though. I want the food I eat to be doing something for me and my body. Clean eating is a wonderful lifestyle. Easy to follow, easy to stick with. My family all eat clean and they know what is good for their bodies. I have also noticed that since I have started to eat clean my workouts are better I have better endurance. I can run forever somedays. I just want to run, run, run, and never stop but then comes Banks crying about something in his world and I am forced back into reality. Clean Eating helps keep your blood sugar from going high and low, it helps with regular bowl movements, also clean eating helps me look good in my jeans and that makes me love this lifestyle. Everyone should Clean Eat.

Hummus

Hummus. Yum, yum, yummy. We are loving this fun dip at our house. Oh, hummus is so tasty. I never would give hummus a try because I didn't like the name, but we finally decided to dip in and yum we are hooked. Hummus is loaded with good fats, carbs, and protien because it is made out of beans. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Burrito

I have found another meal all of my kids like. No one complains about this meal ever. A chicken burrito. They all eat them up. The older kids usually will eat 2.
I am a happy mom when my kids are all eating what I have fixed for dinner with no complaints. I am also happy when I do not have to bribe them to eat their food. That makes me a super happy mom. I love my kids. Happy clean eating!!!

Massage

A body massage works wonders!! My hips were hurting so super bad. I really didn't know what the problem was but I knew I definatley had a problem. Then my right upper back started to hurt BAD. I thought I was going to die. So I told Daddy-o that I thought I was going to die because my back hurt so bad and there was no way I was going to be able to run. So he gave me a massage. Not a feel good massage, a hurt really bad massage. But WOW did it make a huge difference. I came back a few times for a massage because Daddy-o is free and I like free. Also because I felt so much better. My hips are finally done hurting, my runs are finally back to normal if not better then they were before all of this. I am still trying to become more limber. I have been doing yoga, pilates, and stretching everyday. I am loving my workouts lately. Happy Exercising!!!
