Wow!! Along time has gone by since my last post. I was just so sad for myself when I was reading that I couldn't run. oh, wow that took forever to heal. I am so glad that I am up and running again. Nothing is better than running. I actually bought a new treadmill about a month ago. What a wonderful thing to run on a brand new treadmill, the best feeling in the entire world. I am kind of in a rut with eating and working out though. I need to find some new recipes that make me excited. Also maybe some new weight exercises. I am feeling a bit bored with what I have going on right now. The only thing I look forward to is my run. I have not been enjoying weight training at all lately. I need to find something new and exciting. Happy Exercising!!!

Calories
Since I have not been running this week I am obviously not buring the amount of calories I was burning so I have been watching my calorie intake a lot more close. This is kind of stressfull for me. I am just use to buring a certain amount of calories each day, and I really like to eat. It bring me great joy. I really don't want to count calories. Calories in calories out. If you are not expending enough energy bad things will happen!! Happy Clean Eating!!!
Lost
I am lost without my moring run. The last 2 1/2 weeks have been really hard for me. I stopped running last tuesday because my leg is bothering me so bad that is kills to run on. I think I have just over trained. So I am giving my run workouts a break for the time being. I have started using different machines and I have realized this week that my love for running is still there. I just miss that runners high I feel at about mile 4. I am really hoping that sometime this week my leg will feel better so I can start running again. I do enjoy doing other things, but I really get a great workout from running. I feel like I work my entire body at the same time. Happy Exercising!!!
Sleep
We all know that not getting the propper amount of sleep can cause weight gain. But did you know that to much can do the same thing? So remember we only need 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Happy Clean Eating!!!

*Fuel you body, As as body adapts to your new fitness level your metabolism increases. Evalute how much food your body really needs.
*Mix up your routine, if you are not continually shocking your body with new exercises your body will know what is coming next, shock your body. Don't let your ody know what is coming next.
*Change the intesity of your workouts daily, push your self harder certian days of the week, remember to take a rest day too.

Spinning
I am going to expand my exercise routine to spinning. I am trying a spinning class tomorrow morning, I am a little nervous only because I never do group exercise classes. I always workout alone or with my sister. But I am really excited to try something new. I am sure I will be really sore from the class because all I ever do is run and P90X. So we will see if I am going to become a gym rat or not!!! Happy exercising!!!
Running
I am lost without my run in the morning. I am crabby until I am finished with my entire workout. I love to run and log my miles each and every morning. My kids are now home from school so i find it hard to juggle everything going on. So I must get my run in to feel half way human again. Kids really keep you moving and on the go. Exercise gives me some sort of control in my out of control life. I would be lost without my runs in the morning. Happy Exercising!!!
Fruit
Strawberries and blueberries are at the top of my fruit list right now because they are both in season and are incredibly delicious. I love to put them in yogurt with some granola. Yummy!!! Fruit to me is a treat, it is so sweet and wonderful. I love clean eating it makes me happy to know that I am putting good foods into my body and giving my body what it needs to be healthy and happy. 5aDay
Getting your 5 Veggies a day has become important to me. Veggies are so good for your body and leave you feeling full because of all the fiber they are loaded with. I like eating sugar peas, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, and lots of salad. I love salad and cannot get enough. I enjoy eating an entire bag and a half to myself. My sissy thinks I am crazy for eating so much salad all the time but salad really fills me up and I feel so good when I am eating my veggies. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Strawberries
Strawberries are in season right now!! Strawberries are so great for clean eating. You can put them in your yogurt, smoothies, on top of cereal, or just eat them all by themselves because strawberries are so sweet they taste like a treat. Happy Clean Eating!!!
CleanUp
Clean up your eating to shed fat. Too many calories, not enough training is waht creates bulk. You must eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day to stay lean. Remember to always eat protein, carbs, and fat at eat meal or snack. Drinking plenty of water is also very important trick to staying lean. Happy Clean Eating!!!
Shrink
Shrink the size of your thighs by increasing your bodies lean body mass. Muscle takes up less space than fat, so when you build muscle and shed fat, you will become tighter and more compact. Happy Exercising!!!

Oxygen
I am feeling renewed and excited about clean eating and working out. I just received my copy of Oxygen Magazine. I love, love, love this magazine. I always find such great inspiration from the articles and from the workout tips they suggest. Oxygen always has new in site to give and I feel myself becoming so motivated. I think it would be so cool to be able to compete in a fitness competition and have to become competition ready like those girls do in Oxygen. They are truly an inspiration to me. I want to be a hard body like they are. So today I have new goals and I want to be a better me. I want to eat super clean and build my muscles strong. Priority

Depressed
Okay, I think I am depressed? I am not easily depressed that is just not my personality. But I am looking out the window right now and it is gray and super cold outside. I am depressed, I am so ready for sunshine and summer time. This spring and been horrible so, so, so, cold. We are still inside dying to be outside. The kids are going crazy and I am going to loose it any day now because I am not sure if summer is ever going to come to Washington. I think Washington is the most depressing place to live on the planet. We NEVER see the sun and when we do, it is not for long enough. We get teased with a day here or a day there. I am so sick of it. I need some change, what will I do. At least I have exercise and clean eating, I can control those 2 things unlike the sunshine!! Happy Clean Eating and Exercising!!!

Workout
The reality show on Bravo called WORKOUT is great. I really enjoy watching shows that motivate me and help me stay on track. I love to know what other people are doing for exercise. How other people are keeping their bodies in shape and fit. How people juggle their busy lives and fit in healthy eating, fitness, family time, ect... Reading about and learning about fitness are my passion, I just cannot get enough information. I love knowledge. I love to learn and to learn about things I am interested in. Fitness and health are on the top of the list. I enjoy talking to others about health and fitness also, I feel like it helps me to stay motivated with my goals. Happy Exercising and Clean Eating!!!

I need to start drinking green drinks and juicing. This is a goal of mine. I have a juice machine and I am going to dust it off and start drinking those super foods for your body. BareNaked
Bare Naked granola is so good. We bought the peanut butter flavored one this last weekend and I just love the stuff. So great in yogurt, oatmeal, or just a handfull all by it's self. WOW!!! Workouts
I am so happy this week. My workouts have been so great, I am attempting P90X once again. This time I am doing the program my way. When I do the program suggested I feel like I start bulking up which is not what I am trying to do. My muscles respond really quickly to weight training so I have to be careful not to do too much. I love to incorporate yoga and Pilate's into my weekly schedule. Yoga is my favorite. Yoga really helps me stay limber. I really love to run outside but that doesn't work right now for my schedule with 5 kids to deal with so I run on the treadmill and try to vary each workout so every time I run I am doing something a little different. I do wish I could run outside more, maybe when summer comes and it is not so darn cold outside, because it really is so super cold around here. Happy Exercising!!!

Favorite
My favorite snack right now is a banana with crunchy adam's peanut butter. Oh, I love it. The kids love it too. We all sit around the table with our banana's and the jar of peanut butter and I spoon the peanut butter on for everyone. We do this until our banana's are all gone and then sometimes the kids want a second banana. Needless to say we go through a lot of banana's!! Happy Clean Eating!!!
Buns
I worked my buns today. When I work individual muscle groups I feel like I get more out of a workout. My buns were working hard, I like that. I love the squat-lunge combo. It really works well and creates great definition. My runs are better when I give my legs and buns some work each week. My run was really great this morning despite all the interuptions, gotta love those babies!! Happy Excercising!!!

Eating clean is a wonderful way to live your life. I feel so much better when I am eating what my body needs. I feel more energy and happier about life. I feel better about myself. My workouts are better and I have the energy I need to keep up with my 5 kids all day long, they can be really make me tired. Food tastes so much better when it is cooked clean and also I feel very satisfied. I don't have as many cravings. Happy Clean Eating!!!!
Being in Hawaii for the last 10 days was a real treat. The sun and the beach were amazing. I love being outside. Being able to go running outside was the best part of all. I enjoyed running by the beach up the mountain and looking down on the beach seeing all the early morning surfers. The smell of Hawaii is amazing, the flowers and trees are beautiful. Weather is so accommadating to exercise outdoors I love that. Living in Washington with all the rain and the cold days, you never know when it is actually going to be nice enough to take your exercise outdoors. So needless to say my runs were amazing the last 10 days and I already miss the feeling of running outside in the warm Hawaiian air. Happy Exercising!!!

Clean
I feel like I have fallen off the blogger seen here for a little while. We have been in Hawaii with my side of the family having a wonderful time. But wow I am so happy to be home and to be able to open the fridge and know that there is "CLEAN" food in there. Being on vacation is really hard to stay clean. I did pretty well everyday until about dinner time and then I always wanted a treat because we were eating at a resturant that had yummy treats. So 50% of the time I would give into my cravings. But I am home now and 100% dedicated to Clean Eating. We went shopping yesterday and loaded up the fridge and pantry with all the clean eats we eat around here and I feel so good today. I love eating clean. The energy I feel is great. I love knowing that I am feeding my kids well too and they are getting great foods for their little growing bodies. Eating out is great because someone else is doing the work but you don't know exactly what they are cooking with and that always makes me a little nervous. I like to cook because then I know exactly what I am putting into my body. Clean Eating is the only way to be. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Diary
Keeping a food diary my help you drop those last few stubborn pounds. Log everthing you eat each day, you might really be surprized by how much you are consuming each day. Especially if you have children because what they don't eat we don't want the food to go to waste we bought the food right. So where does it go?? Into our mouths, and we don't need it at all. So try it write down what you are eating it might really shock you into not eating as much and off will come the pounds. Happy Clean Eating!!!
Guilty
This week has been a really busy week. We have been busy getting ready for vacation and also I have been busy with hair. My workouts have not suffered fortunately, but me eating has. I feel like I haven't had time to cook and eat as clean as a ususally do. I really have a craving latley for hamburgers and chocolate. I finally gave into the hamburger craving tonight and it tasted super yummy. I guess we all have to give into our cravings sometimes. I guess the thing I love most about eating clean is you can get off track one meal but the very next meal you can make good choices again and you don't have to beat yourself up about getting off track. So I am feeling a bit guilty about my choices this week because I am going to be in a bathing suit next week, but there is a new day tomorrow and I will do better tomorrow. Happy Clean Eating!!!

PortionControl
Portion control is so important. When I eat the propper amount of food at each meal I can assure you that I am hungry every 3-3.5 hours without fail. When I am not using portion control I eat to much or to little and screw up my eating schedule. Sometimes the protions don't look big enough but I assure you protion control works. We are not meant to be eating super huge meals are bodies cannot handle that. Each meal size should look like this...
Protein= size of the palm of your hand
Complex carb from whole grain= size of tennis ball
Complex carb from fresh fruit or vegetable= one heaping handful

Kids
With a busy schedule and 5 kids to take care of, life can get a little bit crazy around here making clean eating a little bit challenging because sometimes I feel like all I do is prepare and clean up food. I do love knowing that my family is eating well and everyone is eating good foods for their little growing bodies, that is so important to me. I cannot be with them at all times, but I hope that I am instilling good eating habbits and helping them to know what foods are good for their bodies. They all know exercise is important they see Alex and I making a daily effort to make sure we are getting our exercise in. They all know mommy must run before we do anything or go anywhere. Clean eating is a great lifestyle and one that kids can adapt to easily. We all enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables at our house. Although the veggies are sometimes a fight we try to get what our bodies need. The kids even like protein shakes, they think protein shakes taste like a treat. I like hearing that. Focus
SO my buttox is in need of some attention. So I have been doing exercise DVD's especailly for my beautiful buttox. I think all the running I do makes my behind flat. So I have really been enjoying working and focusing on one area. Results happen so quickly once you give it your all and focus on what you want to accomplish. Happy Exercising!!!

Exercise
How much exercise is too much exercise?? When does exercise become addicting?? Do we all love to exercise?? Or is exercising painful for some?? How do you know when you are obsessed with exercise?? Do we all look at exercise in the same way?? Are you crabby if you don't get your workout in?? Or am I the only one that feels that way?? How do you go a day without a run?? Is it painful??? How do you know when to stop exercising?? Will I get fat if I stop running?? I am the only person that has these kind of questions running through my head?? Happy exercising!!!
CoconutOil
Oh, I have been cooking a lot with the tasty oil ever. I have been using coconut oil in a lot of different recipes. Oh, my it really is tasty. The kids even think so. I made pancakes and greased the pan with coconut oil each time I made a new batch of pancakes they loves that. They new the pancakes tasted better but they didn't know why or what I used. I also cooked shrimp in coconut oil with a little sea salt. So I am just loving coconut oil and all the health benefits that go along with it. Everyone should give it a try. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Buttox
I have been reading about how to tone your glutes and make your buttox more round. I think we could all use a little help in that department. Eating is so important. We all have to remember 80% diet, 10% exercise, 10% Genes. That is always so weird to me because I always put exercise first but if you do both religously you will se huge benefits from diet and exercise. They go hand and hand. you cannot do one without the other. So back to my buttox thing, okay so these are the best exercises for your behind......LUNGES and SQUATS. They are the most effective and they both target the biggest muscle groups. So everyone get going, swimsuit season is coming. Happy Exercising!!!

Preggers
Tonight sissy and I did a P90X workout....Chest, Biceps, Triceps. I think that is what it was called. Well she is 24 weeks pregnant and can seriously do more pushups then me. I am just not very strong I guess. I really try to be. I try to do boy pushups but I always end up finishing out with girl pushups or I don't even do the boy ones I just go straight for the girl ones. Well needless to say my arms feel like jello and I know that I am going to be sore tomorrow. I know that is a good thing. I like being sore and knowing that I actually got a workout. I just think I am pathetic because my preggers sissy is seriously stronger than me!!! What is a girl to do. Happy Exercising!!!
Swimsuit
As I was running today I was thinking about having to get in a swimsuit in about 3 weeks. Okay that feels a little scary, I am not sure if I am ready to expose my body in a swimsuit to the world yet. SO I thought about what I could do to feel swimsuit ready and feel confident in my swimsuit. I think I need more weight training in my life. I do weight train weekly, bu the DVD's I do each week do not change up the workout enough. I need to keep my body guessing so I always feel challenged. I do get into a workout rut and just do the same thing over and over again without making any changes. So my goal for this week is to make more changes in my daily workout schedule. I think that is simple enough to work on for this week. I enjoy working out and keeping my body in shape. I want to look my best and feel confident in my swimsuit this season, don't we all?? BUSY
I have been a busy lady this week with not a lot of time to blog. I have had a hard time keeping with my schedule too. I feel like I am living on protein drinks and oatmeal. I love both but I definately need more variety. I am hoping this week will be different so that I can eat better and more frequently. Clean eating is such a fabulous lifestyle. I feel so much better about myself when I am eating clean and staying focused on my families diet. I have a few recipes I am excited to try this week so I will post any that makes this family or me happy. Happy Clean Eating!!!
My workouts this week have been fabulous. I seem to always find the time I need to fit the exercise part into my crazy schedule. I guess if I don't get my workout in I am not a nice lady at all and no one wants to be around me. It is one thing to have a fat day and be a complete mess but it is another thing to miss a workout because then we have a very unhappy and crabby mommy at this house. I have continued to get up early before the kids and do either weight training, yoga, pilates. I feel so happy getting up when the house is still quiet and I don't have to be a mommy quite yet. Shake
I took a recipe today form oxygen magazine for a sweet potatoe smoothie. I was so excited to try this yummy smelling and looking Protein shake. WOW, was I wrong...it was not what I thought, it was worse. I wanted to barf the entire trime I gagged it down. GROSS!!! So if oyu see the sweet potatoe protein drink my advice is don't try it. I was so sad that I wasted an entire meal on the nasty drink. Happy Clean Eating!!!

YardWork
I have been working in the yard the last 2 days pulling weeds and just trying to get our yard back to weed free. I am not sure if it is ever really ever weed free but I am sure trying. Anyway I cannot believe how sore my back and my abs are. WOW!! YOu would have thought I was just sitting around all day by the way I feel, I mean hello I workout like 2 hours a day. I know I am crazy but that is just me. I love exercise it really makes me happy and feel soooo good. So what I am trying to say is working in the yard is really a great workout. I sure can feel it. Clean eating provides your body with great fiber and a healthy balance of carbs, protein, and fat. I know that I am getting what I need when I am eating clean because my body tells me I am. I have the energy I need and that feels great. Keeping up with 5 young kids, keeping a house clean, the laundry going, and all the other motherly duties we all have to preform each day can be tough. Clean eating helps me to focus on me a little bit each day, that feels good knowing that I am not only taking care of me but I am taking care of other people. Okay Cousin I love that you are keeping track of your meals. I have never done that before. I think a food diary might really help me to stop and think about what I am eating before I put it into my mouth. So I am going to try to keep one too. SO here it goes.

Clean eating is the best thing to do for your body. I have been staying on track and keeping the good food coming into my body which makes me feel great. I would have to say it is easier when I talk about eating clean daily on the blog and also with other people. My sister is pregnant and before she got pregnant she was so great about eating clean and then she was horrible about it and I lost my motivation a little bit because we were not talking about it constantly and talking about new recipes and new tricks that work. So she is back into it now after gaining a little too much weight and realized quickly that clean eating really does work and if you don't want to be a heffalump you musy keep going strong. I have now found a new dedication to eating clean. I didn't completely fall off but I was eating too many treats during the week instead of just having my favorite indulgence a brownie tower on sunday. Eat
Food is my best friend. I love to eat and I love to eat clean. I feel amazing when I don't pump my body full of junk and dirty food. Who needs to have junk in their bodies anyway? When I do eat dirty food my feel sluggish, my workouts are not as good, and I feel guilty for having no will power. I have been trying to take advantage of all the great in season fruits and veggies that are all around us. I am loving costco's fruit. Also there is a premade bagged salad that you put together yourself so I can put the necessary amount of dressing on that I need too. OH, my so good. I seriously eat the entire bag myself, it serves four but lettuce in my world doesn't count for much. That is why I love salad so much it fills you up without a lot of calories. Eating every 3 hours really helps to stablize your mood and blood sugar levels. I never feel famished or like I have to eat right now. I am always feeding my body good, clean foods to keep my energy levels high. Which in turn is a good thing because I do have 5 kids to take care of. If you are not eating clean at this moment you should give it a try, it is the best thing I ever did for myself and for my family. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Time
Me time is so important to all of us. We all need to make an effort to get me time. Of course all of our schedules are jammed packed but if we just schedule our me time we will be sure it gets done. Inspire

Craisins
Craisins in my oatmeal OH, what a treat. I smile when I think about my morning oatmeal. I love breakfast, it is my favorite meal of the day. Although I have pushed my oatmeal back a few hours. I drink a protein drink, EAS, before my run because it is too hard to run these days with a tummy full of oatmeal. So I have my oatmeal with craisins after my run now. I like that better. My morning run
Besides the fact that Banks was screaming at me for the first 16 minutes of my run, then I put cartoons on for him and never saw him again, I had a really great run today. I pushed myself hard today so about 3 quarters of the way through I was WOW, just going quick. That hurt but felt good at the same time. I think the reason it was a little more difficult than normal is because I was watching the today show and Kathy Lee Gifford is on now and she is soooooo extremely boring and really likes herself a lot. I really felt good when I was done though. I also did Winsor Pilates this morning. Love Pilates. Happy Exercising!!!
Stay hydrated
Staying hydrated with lots of plain water is so important. Especailly after you workout, to help repair muscles and flush toxins from your body. Hydtrating your body also helps rev up your metabolism. So drink up and stay hydrated.

Rising Early
For me getting up about before my kids do is early. Since daylight savings time started Alex and I have been trying to get up earlier and go to bed earlier. Both of which are hard for us. So we set our alarm for 6:25 and we get up together and start our day. I enjoy getting up before the kids do because I can squeeze in a quick workout like, yoga or pilates. I feel like my day starts out better when I don't have to be a Mom right away. Also when I get up early I am just happier because I have more time in the morning with the kids before they go to school. After I get them to the bus is when I start my run. I love Sunday evenings. I am always ready to start a new week, plan our meals, and plan my exercise schedule. I enjoy staring the new week because I feel fresh and rejuvinated from the weekend. The Beauty of Eating Clean
I my eyes the Beauty of eating clean is you never go hungry. I always feel satisfied. If I am hungry I eat. I love that. Eating now is such a joy and something I look forward to. I always make eating every 2 1/2-3 hours a priority because I know that is good for my body. Breakfast is my favorite time of day because I love oatmeal. Running Girl
Just thought I would talk about my running for a minute. I have been running about 10 miles a day lately which feels so amazing and I feel invigorated after I am done. I have to get myself to stop sometimes and realize that I have a life besides running and my children need me. Light string cheese
This week at the grocery store I decided to buy Light string cheese instead of the normal version. Surpirsingly I like it better. It has only 60 calories and 1/2 the fat of the normal version. The kids don't notice a difference either. We are hooked. Happy Clean Eating!!!
Over indulging
I love to eat....I love to eat really good food. I am really strict with my diet during the day. Eating every 2 1/2- 3 hours. Getting the right amount of protein, fat, and carbs. I think to myself, self you are so great, you are eating so great today and feeling so great. But then Alex gets home, the kids go to bed, and Alex and I are vegging out. All I want to do is eat crap. I want to sit on the bed with Alex and have treat after treat after treat. But of course I know better and I really don't have treats in the house. If we want a treat we have to actually leave the house and buy one. I guess that is a good thing, or else I would be one BIG momma!!! I have found one thing that I can munch on at night that I really have no guilt doing...SUGAR SNAP PEAS!! I love them. They are crunchy, sweet, and really low in calories. Fiber Consumption
Getting to much fiber can be a bad thing for your weightloss efforts. Fiber is the best tool for weightloss and helping you feel full longer. Eating to much can push food through your intestines so fast that some minerals, like calcium, zinc, and iron are not absorbed. Although it is hard to over do fiber with just food alone read your food labels and make sure you are not topping 40 grams a day. Happy Clean Eating!!!
Eating on a schedule
We all love a schedule right. After having kids I realized that I am a schedule person. I like to know what is coming up next. Along with that I like to know when my next meal is because I love to eat. Before I started clean eating my meals were here and there when I got a chance to eat. Avoid skipping meals
The best way to keep your metabolism up is to eat. Eating every 2-3 hours is key to maintaining a high hummin' metabolism. "Women are more likely then men to skip meals." Why so we do this to ourselves if we all know this is bad for our bodies and we are going to pay for it later....We all end up pigging out by the end of the day on junk if we deprive our bodies all day. So keep you body happy and just feed it. Starvation is not the key to loosing weight and having that perfectly toned body. Eat your way thin and be happy about it. Morning Exercise
So I have laid off the P90X for this week. I was doing the wrong workouts and I feel like I was bulking up, it is probably all in my head but I am paranoid. So this week Alex and I have been getting up early, 6:30 that is early for us, and working out. Alex goes to the Y and I just go upstairs. I have been doing yoga and pilates this week and running of course, cannot live without my run in the morning. I have felt really great about that. For me it is nice to take a little break from all the lifting. I don't want to be a man. Exercising in the morning is the best way to stick with a program because there are no excuses of why not to do it. To many things come up later in the day. So make morning exercise a priority, you will feel better about yourself. Happy Exercising!!!

Clean eating is a lifestyle you have to commit to. You have to give it your all and really be dedicated to keeping your kitchen "CLEAN" Sometimes the kids get really sick of what we are eating and want different meals. So I am in search of new recipes. I am so excited that we finally have good strawberries and blueberries again. The fruit is so sweet it tastes like a treat. I am loving that. Tonight my sister and I ate an entire blueberry box from costco. I just couldn't stop, they really were so tasty. I have been trying really hard lately to be good about what I put into my body. Oops
Okay I just realized I have been doing the wrong P90X. I have been doing the classic version, I am seriously going to turn into a man, I am freaking out. So tomorrow I change what I am doing. I need to be doing the lean workout. I am not trying to bulk up, my muscles respond really quickly and I will turn into body builder, oh, NO. So Courtney informed me tonight that I should not be doing the classic I should be doing the lean program. Oh, my goodness, I didn't even know there were different programs in the set. I just thought you did what the first workout said. I am a little slow I think. Well atleast I have been having really great workouts lately. Happy Exercising!!!
I'm not crazy just addicted
For those of you that read this blog and don't know me, you probably think I am totally nuts and all I do is workout. I want to assure you that I am a productive human being with 5 kids. I love to run and workout because this is my outlet and it makes me feel good. I love the way exercise makes me feel and I love the way I feel when I eat clean. I am extreme I know, but atleast I can admit that, right. SO I know I am addicted to exercise it is just those endorphins kick in when I am running and sometimes it is hard to stop!!! P90X Chest and Back has sooooo many push-ups to count. Every time I do this DVD I feel like I am might really die this time. I always start out with a bang and go really hard and strong. BUt then the second round I feel like jello and it is enough for me to get the girl push-ups done. WOW!!! Talk about a serious workout. P90X Kenpo X
I am just really enjoying my P90X. I know it is so good for my body because my runs have been so great I have to make myself stop. Good sign huh? Last night I did Kenpo X, it reminds me of Tae Bo. Not my most favorite, I would rather be weight training or doing Yoga but I will do what the program says and see where it takes me, Why not?? I have been watching the P90X info-mercial over and over, I have been driving Alex crazy with it. I just get so motivated to hear other peoples success stories, I thrive off it I guess. I am ready for a new week and ready to try harder this week. I want to log about 65-70 miles of running this week and continue on with my P90X routine in the evenings, that seems to be working really well.

As I was going upstairs tonight to do P90X Legs and Back, I was thrilled to learn that Alex was going to join me in my workout. I thought he would just be there doing his own thing but, NO he actually did P90X with me!!! We had a really fun time together, I love to have a workout partner, that makes me so happy. So we spent some time sweating together and getting stronger together, love that. I think my love for him grew tonight because he did P90X for me. Happy Exercising!!!
Running
I had the best run ever today. I love to run. I seriously had to make myself stop because the kids had been playing the Wii for half their life and I knew it was time to be done, all of them were home from school today. Anyway, I just love to run and run hard. Today I ran on a 9.0 which for me is really fast, I was actually feeling great, love that feeling where you just want to go on forever. So tonight I am doing P90X legs and Abs, that will be great I am really excited. I feel like I am haveing better runs because I am doing stregth training. My abs are looking really fabulous, I feel great. Happy Exercising!!!

P90X Yoga
WOW!! That is all I can say tonight. I forgot how hard P90X Yoga is for me. P90X Yoga is also really long, after about 45 minutes I start feeling like there are a lot of other things I need to be doing at this moment. I did get through the DVD but not without looking at the clock every other minute. THe first 35 minutes are really tough but the rest of the DVD moves a little slow. I think 20 mintues could be shaved off if Tony would just stop talking and get moving. Reguardless I had a great workout and that makes me happy. Happy Exercising!!!
Tip of the day
Watch your portions...Meal sizes are huge, they are bigger now than they ever have been before. So if you are dining out and you can see that the portion size is too much ask for a doggie bag right when you order comes so you can put half away for another meal. Perect portion control. Don't let the resturant's meal sizes get you down or make you get off track. Happy Clean Eating!!!
P90X
For those of you who do not know what P90X is....P90X is a diet and exercise program you follow. The set comes with 12 DVD's, a complete book about the DVD's and how the DVD's are used, like the order in which to perform each one. Weeks on weeks off. Then there is a nutrition guide along with recipes. There are diiferent phases for the P90X...1, 2, 3. I have never done the phases, but I am currently on phase 1 for the first time. I do cardio in the morning and then I do P90X in the evening. This is extreme I know, but I am an extreme person and I cannot give up my running, I just love to run in the morning. So I have been doing the DVD's in the order they suggest. I am really enjoying it and I feel like I am seeing results already, especially my abs. If you are looking for a trainer so to speak but want to do everything at home I really encourage you to get P90X. It is so great because it is hard to get to the gym when you have little ones at home. So it is perfect to do anytime you can. Mornings, naptime, evenings, whatever works for your schedule. Recipe
Scrambled egg whites for 2
10 egg whites
4 tablespoons cheese
3 slices of ham chopped
2 cups spinach chopped
1/2 cup fresh salsa
mix ingredients together and cook over medium heat, ready in 5 minutes.
We love this recipe, Alex and I eat this in the evening sometimes after the kids are in bed. Yum yum yummy. Happy Clean Eating!!!

AB Ripper X
Tonight I had the pleasure in participating in AB Ripper X. WOW!!! My ABS really feel that let me tell you. I did the AB Ripper X on monday evening thought I was going to die...And then tonight I did the AB Ripper X again...I think it was worse tonight then Monday night. My ABS were on FIRE!!! P90X is the best if you really want to get into great shape P90X is the only way to succeed. I tried to get Alex involved tonight but he thinks his fitness magazine gives him all the power. So at this point my entire body hurts, I am extremely sore. But I really love that feeling it makes me happy, I know my muscles are working and working hard, Love that. Happy Exercising!!!
P90X
I have been working so hard this week. My running is great, I finally feel like myself again. I have started to do P90X again too, that is making me really happy. I have a very sore body and that means I am working hard. I love knowing that my muscles are getting strong and that my body is getting stronger. I wasn't really doing any weight training because Courtney told me I was bulking up, I am not trying to look like a man. Lately I feel like I am in a workout rut so I decided I need to see results again so I have been better with my diet and I have been doing P90X everyday. I am loving the way that makes me feel. Success with a Partner
As I was running on the treadmill yesterday, Alex and the kids were downstairs playing the Wii. Alex was only going to play for a few minutes and then hit the gym. Well about 1/2 way into my run he came upstairs and started lifting weights. I love having a workout partner. I had so much fun, we didn't talk much but just the fact that we were sweating together made me smile and love him just a little more. He is working so hard trying to get back the "PRE-BABY BODY" back!!! I love to see him being healthy and making healthy choices because our children are watching and we are making a huge impression on them at their young age. I love you Alex. Happy Exercising!!!
Food

Falling off
I feel like I have fallen off my good habits and lifestyle lately. We have had birthday parties, sick kids, and too many treats around. I need some words of encouragement here. I feel like I am out of control. I need to put down the fork and move away from the kitchen. I have been eating like crap. So I am making a new goal today to live better and eat better. I know I feel so much better when I do. It has been hard for me to say no the treaty treat treats lately. Clean Eating Diet
THe reason I started to clean eat is because I was looking for a way to eat and be healthy, I stumbled upon the Oxygen Magazine and found the Clean Eating Diet in there. I have been following the clean eating way ever since. I didn't really have a lot of weight to loose but I wanted a healthy way to live. I had been doing the diet for about 2 weeks and my sister came over while I was working out she could not belive how different I looked. I had all the sudden become more trim and you could really see my abs. Even my legs looked different. SO I went and bought every book I could on Clean Eating. Tosca Reno has written 3 books that are all fabulous. I Love to Clean Eat. My entire family is clean eating and it is a lifestyle. We couldn't be happier. Although the kids do love to go to Mimi's house and eat all her dirty food that does make them happy!!! Happy Clean Eating!!!

Exercise
To succeed at your fitness goals you must schedule your workout sessions just like you would any other appointment. Write it down on your calendar, don't move it for anyhting else. Keep it scheduled so you are consistant with your routine. If you do miss a day reschedule for the next day and try hard to keep your exercise a priority. Happy Exercising!!!

We all want to be successful at the things we set out to do. Exercise and eating right are 2 things we all want to succeed at. If you were training for the Olympics you probably would not be eating a ton of junk food or eating out at gut rock fast food all the time. You would be taking extra great care of your body, giving your body the best clean foods and vitamin supplements you could. We all should take the best care of our bodies even if we are not training for anything specific. Be successful, set realistic goals for yourself, and have fun with your exercise routine. Smaller
In a world where we are all facing monster sized food choices, go for the smaller verses the larger. Decide to eat smaller protions ahead of time. Stop eating 2-3 meals a day. Start eating 5-6 meals a day. You will soon realize how much better you feel when you are not stuffing yourself soooo full. If you are worried that you are going to be hungry again soon by not eating your monster sized meal good news, guess what, you get to eat again in about 3 hours. The Firm
This week I have been doing Firm videos. Oh, WOW!!! I am a sore lady. My arms are so sore. I have done a ton of push ups today. So the firm is great. I am loving the tone I have today it makes me really happy. I like to see muscles. Exercise is the best it makes you feel so great. Everyone should give it a try. Happy Exercising!!!
Snack
I am loving craisins lately, so I needed to find a protein to go with them that tasted yummy. I found 2, almonds or string cheese. String cheese is my favorite. Oh, my it is really yummy together although all 3 are really tasty together too. Happy Clean Eating!!!

Veggies
Craving veggies but don't have time to cook in the oven or steam over the stove?? Pop the veggies into a zip lock steaming back for a minute or two and poof you have beautifully steamed veggies. Put a sprnkle of sea salt on them and yum, yum, yummy!! Great snack. Happy Clean Eating!!!
Calories
Cutting calories doesn't mean cutting flavor. And some foods have nearly miraculous properties that help you stay slim and trim. Like cinnamon....according to the USDA, it can lower blood pressure which in turn can curb your appetite. Sprinkle some on your oatmeal, in your smoothie, or in some yogurt. Happy Clean Eating!!!
Sleep
Getting proper rest is so important. Your body and muscles need time for rest and recovery. Your body needs atleast 7-8 hours of sleep a night. You'd be better off sleeping through your workout every other day than stumbling through a sunrise exercise class. Be smart exercise is important but sleep is just as important. Happy Exercising!!!

Mixing
Mix up your exercises to keep the body adapting. You must keep your body guessing. Never do the same routine two days in a row. Continually mix it up, you will see results faster and you will continue to see your body changing if you have a new program daily. Happy Exercising!!!

You cannot achieve lasting weightloss with exercise alone. You must have a clean eating diet in order to see lasting results and a positive self image. Pilates
Windsor Pilates is a great way to build lean muscle. Lean muscle helps our bodies metabolism. We all want an effecient metabolism that burns what we are bring into our bodies. `Pilates also lengthens and leans your body out. I feel taller when I do pilates every week. I love how pilates stretches my muscles and the way I feel when I am finished. Give it a try. Happy Exercising!!!
Roasted
Roasted Asparagus
1 1/2 lbs asparagus
3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
Sea salt and black pepper to taste
Preheat oven 425 toss asapargus in extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season lightly with sea salt and pepper. Lay a single layer in baking dish with cooking spray. Bake for 7-10 minutes.
We made these tonight and ate them up. They were yum yum yummy. Alex really likes them a lot. We made quite a few and they are completely gone. Great recipe.

Sanity
I love to run. Runnung is my sanity. Without running I would be INSANE. I love my kids a lot but I need some me time and this is my me time, my sanity. Today I ran my little heart out. I just couldn't stop today. Maybe because yesterday was my day off, I needed my natural high for a little longer today. The kids were so good today too. No one bugged me at all I was so happy with them for letting me run for as long as I needed today. I also did a P90X today because I needed to strech my muscles. I love running. Happy Exercising!!!
Kids
Having 5 kids is no small task. I have gained and lost a lot of weight over the years. With each baby I gained about 30lbs. SO I have had to get that weight off every time, which I did proudly. But I never ate clean. I think a pregnancy would be much easier eating clean. I don't think I would worry about gaining weight or getting if off because with clean eating the weight just comes of naturally without starving which is the best part of all. So I was eating so great today. I was so clean all day, then I just fell prey to chocolate. I could not help myself. I did indulge...WOW that chocolate was soooo good I couldn't stop. I finally had to tell Alex to take it away. Maybe I am lacking in some zinc or some other vitamin because I am craving chocolate, I can't stop thinking about that chocoalte. Having someone to talk to about your lifestyle along with the goals you are currently working on helps to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Just like having a workout buddy you need to have a buddy you can talk to about different recipes that work for your family, differnet snacks, vitamins or supplements that are being taken and you find effective. FAT
If you want to loose weight EAT. Yes that is right EAT. You must eat to keep your metabolism humming. If you eat every 3-4 hours your metabolism will be on fire. When you don't eat your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to every last morsel. We do not want that. Eat the right foods, low calorie, high density foods that fill you up. Exercise
I enjoy exercise. I love the way I feel after a hard run or a really great P90X DVD. I love sweat to be dripping off my body when I finish up my workout because then I know I have done something good for my body and for my stress level. I am a better mom when I workout, a better wife when I workout, and have that so desired ME time. I need ME time. So exercise is the time I choose to get my Me time in. I had an awesome run today, I really kicked my tushy hard. I felt so invigorated after finishing. As I was cooling down I felt great, I was feeling like I could conquer anything. Love that feeling of empowerment. So go have a great run, a great yoga class, or great P90X. Push yourself to the next level. Take it up a notch day by day. Happy Exercising!!!!
Diet
When trying to find the right "Lifestyle" for me and also for my family I did a lot of research on the computer, magazines, different books, ect... Then I stumbled upon Clean Eating. My whole life has changed. The Clean Eating Lifestlye works for us. I am so happy when I am eating clean and putting healthy delicious foods into my body. As I was reading about this lifestyle I didn't know how I was going to eat as much as I was supposed too. But adapting to this change has been so great because I LOVE to eat. I find pure enjoyment putting food into my mouth. Not just any food though. I want the food I eat to be doing something for me and my body. Clean eating is a wonderful lifestyle. Easy to follow, easy to stick with. My family all eat clean and they know what is good for their bodies. I have also noticed that since I have started to eat clean my workouts are better I have better endurance. I can run forever somedays. I just want to run, run, run, and never stop but then comes Banks crying about something in his world and I am forced back into reality. Clean Eating helps keep your blood sugar from going high and low, it helps with regular bowl movements, also clean eating helps me look good in my jeans and that makes me love this lifestyle. Hummus

Burrito
I have found another meal all of my kids like. No one complains about this meal ever. A chicken burrito. They all eat them up. The older kids usually will eat 2.
I am a happy mom when my kids are all eating what I have fixed for dinner with no complaints. I am also happy when I do not have to bribe them to eat their food. That makes me a super happy mom. I love my kids. Happy clean eating!!!

Massage
A body massage works wonders!! My hips were hurting so super bad. I really didn't know what the problem was but I knew I definatley had a problem. Then my right upper back started to hurt BAD. I thought I was going to die. So I told Daddy-o that I thought I was going to die because my back hurt so bad and there was no way I was going to be able to run. So he gave me a massage. Not a feel good massage, a hurt really bad massage. But WOW did it make a huge difference. I came back a few times for a massage because Daddy-o is free and I like free. Also because I felt so much better. My hips are finally done hurting, my runs are finally back to normal if not better then they were before all of this. I am still trying to become more limber. I have been doing yoga, pilates, and stretching everyday. I am loving my workouts lately. Happy Exercising!!!

Oatmeal

Soup
My kids finally love taco soup. I have been making taco soup for about 5 years. It has taken that long for ALL 5 to like it. Even after owning Taco Del Mar Carter still turned his nose up at the sight of beans. For the past 3 months I will not cook more than one dinner and I guess after going to bed hungry one, two many times he has decided that he likes beans and that they are not so bad after all. Power 90 X. The best set of training vidoes I have ever purchased. Cardio, Yoga, Legs, Arms, Kick boxing, and assortment of different videos that get your heart pumping and your muscles super sore. A good sore, that makes you comes back for more. Power 90 X is great for people that are already inshape looking to create a more cut and toned body. I run between 8 1/2 to 12 1/2 miles a day and the cardio in this set still kicks my tushy. I just really love this program and think the world should know how wonderful POWER 90 X is for your body. The Clean Eat Diet Workout book by Tosca Reno is a book I recently purchased and have been reading. I enjoy reading anything I think might inspire me or give me some tips about health. This book is great for all people beginning, intermediate, and advanced training. I have been inspired to try some new things and I feel extra motivated to work my body to a new level of fitness. I always find it interesting that 80% is food, 10% training, 10% genes. Hopefully we all have the good kind !!! I give this book a thumbs up, it's a great read for all. Happy Exercising!!

Okay I have found the BEST protein powder in the entire world....MUSCLE MILK!!! We, Alex and I, just LOVE the way it tastes and seriously feels like you are drinking a real milk shake. The calorie content and fat content is a little bit more than what we usually drink but of course the fat is the good kind and as far as the calories go I feel like I can go longer between meals. Loving that. I hate to be hungry. We just really recommend with super yum yum yummy drink to all that drink protein drinks. If you don't you should start because MUSCLE MILK is seriously the best and everyone will love their milk shakes!!! Happy Clean Eating!!!

Brownie
Okay today is my free day and boy oh boy did I have an amazing brownie today. Let me tell you all about it....Okay super gooey and super tasty. I put peanut butter on top of it because I am loving peanut butter a lot lately especially since we switched to the all natural. Okay so I put peanut butter on top with a scoop of chocolate ice cream, whipping cream, and purple sprinkles. The sprinkles are the most important part. There needs to be a little crunch in the brownie treaty treat treat. So that is it, just writing about my Brownie is making my mouth water. Today was a great day love love love Sunday treaty treat treat. Now I am ready for the new week ahead. I am ready to be clean again and I am excited to run in the morning. Journal
Today has been a great clean eat day. We have had oatmeal, protein shakes, fish, rice and beans. I am feeling so good about myself and very well fed today. On top of it all I had a really great workout. I took my pace a little bit slower today just for variety and logged a few extra minutes to make up for it. I also did Pilates Advanced Body Slimming with Arms, love that one, makes me really happy about my world. Ryan wanted to do Power90X tonight but I just needed her to go to bed. So we will have to do that on Monday. We have been having the kids workout in the evenings so they sleep better and it seems to be working. They are falling asleep a lot faster then usual. That makes the mom happy, happy, happy because then I am not yelling at them to go to sleep. The kids like a happy mom!!! I am looking forward to tomorrow...Our favorite time of the week, BROWNIE SUNDAY. Who doesn't love a treaty treat treat!!! Happy Clean Eating!!!

A product can be vegan and still contain a number of toxic ingredients. Just because a product is labeled vegan doesn't make it any healthier. The product has to be 100 percent synthetic-free to be healthy.

Peanut butter. That says it in one word. The worlds best food or shall I say treat. I absolutely love peanut butter. Peanut Butter makes my heart happy and my body happy. This last month we have decided to start buying the good peanut butter, the stuff that has the hydrogenated oil. SO in this journey the kids were pretty good about the whole switch except those that don't like jelly. The peanut butter just doesn't take that great with just bread. Carter really had an issue with this. So with his bagging and pleading I finally bought the jif dirty peanut butter again. But I still am buying the clean stuff too. The younger kids don't seem to mind it at all. Alex and I really like it a lot. Alex actually likes to put it in his chocolate protein shake. I just feel like I am eating a treat when I have it. I sort of feel guilty when I eat the organic peanut butter because well it tastes so yum yum yummy. In fact tonight I just really needed a treaty treat treat so I had 2 pieces of peanut butter bread with a teaspoon of jelly, it tasted amazing. So I guess at this moment I am kind of feeling guilty. Well tomorrow is a new day. Happy clean eating!!

Did you know??? There is no such thing as "fat burning Food" All foods contain calories, we just need to choose the right ones and burning off the extra calories you consume to lose fat. Exercise is the best way to burn the fat and the unwanted pounds. So now it is time to hop on board and follow an exercise program along with clean eating and watch those unwanted pounds just melt away. Happy exercising
Nike
Nike shox are the best running shoe for me at this moment. I would like to try the ipod nike running gadget, that would be great fun for me. This shoe really supports my high arch. I really appreciate that when I am running a long run because without the right shoe my feet feel really sore. I also love nike dri fit clothes. They really do a great job controlling the sweat. Nike is just great all around, they make a great product to get the job done. Happy exercising!!

So I have stumbled upon a new great magazine, FitnessRX. Such a great find. THe magazine reminds me a lot of Oxygen. Great health information, great article, just a wealth of knowledge for me. I am really excited. I enjoy reading new things about eating, exercise, health, and realating to fitness. It just makes me want to go run, run, run. I know I am kind of crazy but I really enjoy this stuff it makes me a happier person inside. I feel like I am doing something for me. Instead of being the Mom that I am 24/7. Happy exercising.

Ignoring your body's hunger pangs after your workout helps you get lean? WRONG. If you don't eat after exercise your body tries to find whatever fuel it can to repair the muscle. Failing to recover properly can also result in a higher fat mass, as lean muscle tissue will weaken without fuel.
Run
Wow, I had a really hard run today. I have a varicose vain in one of my legs, it is giving me so much trouble lately. My leg aches and hurts. So annoying. I feel like it is holding me back. Especially today I just could not get below a 7 minute mile, I tried hard but it was just not going to happen today. So I logged a few extra miles to make myself feel better. Then I did some Pilates thinking that I would stretch out better that way and stretch longer obviously. That actually seemed to help a bit. Maybe I will try to do some yoga tonight to get some more stretching in. Clean eats all day, I am doing really well this week I am feeling so clean!! I have been trying to get in more water too, about 8L a day. I feel like it cleans my body out. Water is so yummy. I love how it tastes right after a hard run. I think we will have chicken salads tonight for meal 3, dinner, that sounds good. Happy clean eating.

I love food. I love eating food that is good for my body. I love knowing that the food I put into my body is giving me what I need to have the energy to be a mother, a wife, a cook, a house cleaner, an exercise enthusiast. I had a really great day today. No cheats. I feel like I have accomplished so much when I have made it through a day clean. My attitude is better and I like myself more. It empowers me to do good and to stay on tract. With the holidays behind us I have a new found energy for clean eats and really want to put good things into my body. I love chocolate protein shakes with ice and a banana on the side. Oh, my this is a treat to me. That shake is what I need sometimes to cure the craving for the sugar I love so much but does nothing for my body when I eat dirty. I am ready to start tomorrow. I have already planned my menu and cannot wait to start the new day. I am excited for my run and maybe I will fit some yoga into the day too. Hope you have a great day too. Just clean eat, you will feel empowered.

Recipe
Here is an easy receipe for when we are on the go but I need some food fast.
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup yogurt(any flavor)
1 scoop flax meal
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 blueberries
1 scoop protien powder (optional)
Mix ingredients together and eat. Super tasty and great for you. We love this fast easy clean eat.

Running
I love to run. I love that it is my time to think about me, my family, my goals, the future, whatever I choose. I love the way it makes my body feel to push harder or to go longer. I enjoy pilates, yoga and weight training. When I switch up my workouts I really can see the changes in my body and the power I feel from becoming stronger. Clean eating has given me a new energy for life. Having 5 kids I need to have the energy to keep up with them and all the things life brings our way. I definately look forward to my weekly brownie treaty treat on sundays with my sister but I don't feel deprived as I eat the clean food in our fridge and pantry. I love to run and I love to eat clean. They go together well.
